James A. Yates III, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Troy, N.Y., on January 20, 1963 to the late James A. Yates, Jr., and Patricia M. "Pat" Homeyer (Rebhun).
James graduated from Oswego High School. He was employed with The Albany Nanotech Complex since 2006. His hobbies included going to the gun range, concerts, camping, taking rides in his Mustang and motorcycle, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn; children, Ashley, Kaleigh (Joe), Sierra (Jeremy), Kyler (Lynzie), Justine (Ryan) and Dylan; grandchildren, William, Aubrey (Gracie), Riley, Kinsley; sisters Patricia and Sue; Stepfather, Charles "Chuck" Homeyer.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 28th from 4-7pm, with a funeral service to begin at 7pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY 12189.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Peter's Hospice.
