Jammar M. Jones

Jammar Marchon Jones was born August 19th, 1982, in Troy, New York to his loving parents, Willie and Jill Jones. Jammar was a loving son, a caring brother, an affectionate uncle, a favorite cousin, a supportive mentor, and a tried-and-true friend. He is predeceased in death by his father Willie, maternal grandparents J.C. and Catherine Jones and paternal grandmother Lucendia Holley Branch.

Jammar's professional career began in the Food and Beverage industry in the late 1990s. He began working as a waiter and by 2010 was well known as a corporate and celebrity event planner. He worked with companies including Dream House Productions and Flute Champagne Lounges in NYC (New York City) which catered to high profile and corporate clients.

His most recent employment was with an international company, "Chartwells", where he held a position as Director of Nutrition for the La Canada School district. He managed four schools where he provided over two thousand nutritious meals for elementary and high school students in the district. While living in Los Angeles he worked during spring and summer months as an event planner and hosted several celebrity events, including events for Kevin Hart, William Smith and NBC.

Jammar loved spending time with his family and many friends. He always had a bright smile and sometimes the life of the party or event. He was loved by friends across the country from New York, California, and Florida. He had the awesome opportunity to travel to over ten countries and once backpacked across Europe!

Jammar leaves to mourn him his two brothers: Kareem and Elijah (Elinda) Jones, sister Mikhaila Jones and his paternal grandfather Clarence Branch. On his mother's side uncles Clarence (Sharon) Branch and Mark Branch; Aunt Kim Branch-Pollard (David) and cousins, Kiera Branch, DeJana Pollard, Tony Johnson, Malcolm, Steven Branch, Christian Branch, Brian Branch, Madeline Branch, Gabrella Branch and Malcolm Branch where to they reside.

On his father's side, aunts Dorothy Jones of Albany, NY, Linda Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, and Michele Washington of Anderson, Georgia; and cousins Ijwan Brown and Zachary Owens of Anderson, Georgia.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10am-11am at Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 5th Ave, Troy, NY 12180. The service will begin at 11am at the church with interment following at Graceland Cemetery.
