Loudonville- Jane E. Brown (Furner), 86, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was the first child of Charles A. and Mary (Heenan) Furner of Paris Hill, New York. Jane was the loving wife of the late James W. Brown. They were married for 32 years.
While working hard on the family farm, she attended a one room schoolhouse and then Sauquoit Valley High School.
Jane started her long and fulfilling work life with Hartford Insurance. Then New York Telephone (Verizon) for 31 years. Never one to truly retire, she worked for Oneida County, a Law Office, Trustco Bank, the NYS Assembly and Senate as a staffer, and finally, the NYS Republican Committee.
Always active in Politics; she was a Committee woman and a dedicated poll worker. Jane worked on many campaigns and was a member of the Colonie Republican Club and Treasurer of the NYS Women's Republican Club. She was a Communicant and Volunteer at St. Pius X Church and School.
Jane is survived by her step-son, David F. (Maria) Brown of Athens; step-daughter, Mary C. Brown and her husband, John M. Burkett of Menands; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Lucian, and Alina Brown; and her sisters, Ruth (Richard) Lockwood of Arizona and Barbara (Arnold) Timian of Dolgeville. Jane was a proud aunt to her many nieces and nephews and their children.
Jane was predeceased by her brother, John (Elizabeth) Furner of Sauquoit.

After a private calling hour, a funeral mass will follow at 10:30am at St. Pius X church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville, NY, 12211. Burial will follow the service at St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jane's name to the charity of your choice.
