COLONIE – Jane "Carol" MacFarland, 74, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. Peters' Hospice Inn. Born in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Kate (Edwards) MacFarland.
Carol was a resident of the Town of Colonie for 50 years. She worked for Travelers Insurance Company as an executive assistant for 41 years. She also liked working for the Colonie Wraparound Program. In her free time, Carol loved knitting and was an avid reader.
Along with her parents, Carol was predeceased by her brother Kenneth and sister-in-law Margaret Ann MacFarland.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Barbara) MacFarland; sister Kathleen MacFarland; aunt, Evelyn (Robert) McCarthy; six nieces, three nephews, and three cousins; six great nieces and nine great nephews, and one great-great nephew.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Carol's name.
