ROTTERDAM – Jane E. (Riley) Friello, 59, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 26, 2010, with her loving family by her side after a long courageous battle. Born in Amsterdam, she had resided in Rotterdam for most of her life. Jane was a customer service supervisor for AETNA Insurance Company before her illness, a job she truly enjoyed. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Rotterdam. Jane loved spending time with her friends at the YMCA and everyone she came in contact with. She simply liked being with people. Jane will always be remembered as a very caring, loving person, always willing to help others. She is the beloved wife of 30 years to Renato "Ray" Friello and the devoted mother of David A. (Carrie) Friello. Jane is the loving sister of Joan (Don) Blatey, Michael (Donna) Riley, Patrick (Sue) Riley, Dennis Riley, Paul (Shelly) Palmatier and David (Mary) Palmatier. Also surviving is Elaine Jacobs, Cindi Rodriguez, Diane Berninger, Lisa McKenna, Mary Wyld, Jerome Vaverchak and Ann Marie Janjua all of whom she deeply cared for as if they were her own. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Jane was predeceased by her mother, Mary St. John.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 210 Princetown Rd., Rotterdam, NY 12306. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In keeping with Jane's wishes, an act of kindness or helping someone in need, in her memory, would be greatly appreciated.
