Jane E. Martin

GUILDERLAND-Jane E. Martin of Guilderland, NY passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany following a brief illness. She was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Wellington "Bill" and Marie (Bergen) Hillson. Jane has resided in Guilderland for most of her life. She was in the restaurant business for fifty years, working for various restaurants. Jane owned the Cat's Meow Restaurant in Guilderland for thirty two years. She loved traveling to Las Vegas and going to Lake Placid with her husband to enjoy the changing of the seasons. Jane took care of animals, including adopting dogs from the animal shelter. She was a member of the Albany County Restaurant Association.
Jane is survived by her beloved husband of 50 ½ years, Stephen D. Martin of Guilderland, her loving children Sharon Henderson of Guilderland and Stephen B. Martin of Guilderland. The family wishes to thank Jane's special friends Debbie and Brian Brusco of Schenectady.
In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her best friend Mocha.
There will be no calling hours and services will be at the convenience of the family. The family asks that they do not receive phone calls.
Interment will be at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
