Jane E. Van Zandt
July 6, 1930 — February 18, 2015
GUILDERLAND – Jane E. Van Zandt, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at home. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor Bender.
Jane was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her seven children. She always put everyone else's needs ahead of her own. Jane loved tending to her flower gardens and spending time near the water. She will be remembered for her laugh and great sense of humor.
Along with her parents, Jane was predeceased by her sister Margy Nancarrow (William).
She will be missed by her loving husband of 66 years, Walter Van Zandt; children Linda, Nancy (Jack), Barry (Debbie), Joyce, Janice (Patrick), Pamela, and Paul; brother Raymond Bender; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; dear sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, and her nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In the spirit of Jane's giving nature, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
