NORTH GREENBUSH – Jane F. Rooney, 79, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Jane was born on February 6, 1932 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Kolach) Urban. She enjoyed gardening, baking, taking trips to Atlantic City with her sisters, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Martin F. "Bud" Rooney; her loving sons, Frank P. (Melissa) Rooney, Patrick M. (Jennifer) Rooney, and Kevin M. (Kim) Rooney; her cherished grandchildren, Eamon, Declan, Finnbar, Kieran, Seamus, Eilis, Teaghan, Nieve, Tighe, Breanna, Sierra, and MaKayla; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Joan U. DeNault, her sister, Marie C. Minahan, and her brother, Theodore Sierocki.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie then to Our Lady of Hope Residence Chapel where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Hope Residence, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, NY 12110 in loving memory of Jane F. Rooney.
