Colonie - Jane Henritta Harvey beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and GG passed away
at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center on March 21, 2010. She is survived by her husband Leonard J. Harvey,
her son William S. (Susan) Harvey of Colonie, her daughter Gail A. (Richard J.) Cali
of Auburn, NY. Her granddaughters Heather M. Harvey of Colonie, Kelly (DJ) Geddes of Colonie and Great Granddaughter Kalin Harvey. Her sisters Florence (Kenneth) Cherry of Duncansville Pa. and Mary Fisher of Ocala, Fla. Her sister-in –law Margaret Vonbehren of Denver Co. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her special friends Rose Penn and Marion (Jack) Cassidy
She was born in Turtlecreek, Pa in 1924 the daughter of William L. & Florence A. Sanders. She graduated from Passavant Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1948 obtaining her RN license. She married the love of her life Leonard J. Harvey on April 29th 1950. They moved to the Albany area in 1964. Jane went to work for St. Peter's Hospital in 1966 and she retired in1986.She was a dedicated RN she never fully retired, because she was always on duty for her family and her neighbors.
She was a loving wife and mother. She will be missed dearly for the care, love and support she always provided to her husband and children and granddaughters and great granddaughter. She was the love of our life
Her family would like to thank Our Lady of Life Center staff especially the Rosary Unit
who provided Jane with dignity, respect, love and wonderful care the last few months of her life. The Bright Horizons staff for all of their wonderful care and Hospice for their care and support.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 9:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment, Memory Gardens. Donations can be made in memory of Jane Harvey to Our Lady of Mercy Life Center-Rosary Unit, Bright Horizons at the Beltrone, or Community Hospice of Albany.
