Jane Harrington

Guilderland – Jane "Mitch" Harrington, 64, passed away at her residence on Tuesday October 28, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Schenectady on September 27, 1950 she is the daughter of the late Stanley Mitchell and Roberta Jette Mitchell.

Jane graduated from Burnt Hills High School and attended SUNY Plattsburgh. Jane was a CSEA union member, employed by the New York State DMV Traffic Violations Bureau and resided in Guilderland for the last 30 years. Jane was a very giving person who volunteered her time with many organizations through the years. She was a Sunday School Teacher at St. Boniface Episcopal Church, a teaching assistant at both Guilderland Elementary School and the Center for the Disabled in Albany and most recently helped as an adult literacy tutor. Jane loved to go camping and kayaking in the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains, taking trips to the ocean, working in her flower gardens and spending time with the family at the Harrington's family camp on Efner Lake in Corinth, NY.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Jeffrey Harrington; and her cherished sons, Daniel (Corrine) Harrington and Sean Harrington. She is also survived by her brother Gregory Mitchell; her sister Karen (Paul) Pitman; mother-in-law Shirley Merriman Harrington and a large loving extended family.

A private memorial service will be held for Jane for family and close friends at a later date.
