Jane S. Hines

COLONIE Jane S. Hines, 83, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 26, 2007 at Eddy Ford Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albany, NY and was the daughter of the late William and Laura Sloan. Jane worked for the New York Telephone Company prior to marrying in 1946. She was a devoted mother and homemaker until returning to work for the South Colonie School District in the late 1960s until her retirement in 1979. Jane is predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years George Delmar Hines. Jane was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Loudonville Arts & Crafts group.
She is the devoted mother of George David (Joan) Hines, Gary (Jo-Anne) Hines, Carolyn (John) Peck, John (Sharon) Hines, Peter (Mary) Hines, and Wayne (Catherine) Hines. She is the sister of the late William Sloan and the cherished grandmother of Jessica, Jeffrey (Jessica), Scott, Matthew (Tara), Adam, Brian, Laura, Andrew and Grace and great grand mother of Mia Rose Hines. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Jane's family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the caring staff of the Eddy Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes for their tender and professional care over the past three and a half years.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:30 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 63 Mountain View Ave, Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery.
