Rotterdam – Catherine T. Clas, 94, entered into eternal life at the Teresian House on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Born in Watervliet she was the loving daughter of the late Patrick and Ruth O'Connell.
Catherine worked many years at Montgomery Wards and The Albany Public market. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all and her passion in life was spending time with her family.
Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband George "Billy" Clas; her sister Ruth Hodoroski (Bill); her brothers, Frank O'Connell (Louise), and Patrick O'Connell (Anna Mae). She is survived by her four children, Catherine Pastore (Michael), John Clas (Gayle), Mary Ann Urban (Chris), and Barbara Hensel (Mike), nine grandchildren, Michael Pastore, Kristen LeClaire, Shawn Urban, Kelly D'Orazio, Joshua Hensel, Jessie Hensel, Julie Slezak, Patrick Clas and Rebecca Martineau, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Catherines family thanks the 6th floor staff at the Teresian House for their love and compassion.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Road, Guilderland. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer.
