Janet E. Baumes

ALBANY – Janet E. Baumes, 73, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Teresian House, with her family by her side. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Michael Rotter and Christine Teta. She was a resident of the Capital District for all of her life. Janet did clerical work for both Link Associates and Samuel S. Stratton. She was a devout catholic. Janet adored her two sons and always enjoyed being around people. Janet is the beloved mother of Eric (Mary) Baumes and Ian Baumes. She is the loving sister of Betty Rejack, Alice Colasessano and the late Marion Ruggiero. Janet is the cherished grandmother of Emily Jane Baumes. Known to the family as "Gigi", she had several loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving are many, many friends at Teresian House, especially Kelli Hawver and the 4th floor staff.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Infant of Prague Chapel at Teresian House. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Teresian House. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Teresian House Foundation, 200 Washington Avenue Ext., Albany, NY 12203 in memory of Janet E. Baumes.
