Janet K. Hobson passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on January 9, 2020 having been predeceased by her parents, two sisters, two brothers and a great grandchild.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Paul/Linda Hobson, Keith/Maryellen Hobson, Judy/ Robert Heuslein, Dale/Jeannette Hobson and Holly/Scott Larsen, 16 grandchildren and their spouses and 26 great grandchildren.
Janet was born in Ottawa Canada and immigrated to the States when her father took a pastorate in Maine.
Janet graduated from Concord, NH High School at an early age and soon married and started her family and moved to the Albany Area. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1967. After being abandoned by her husband, she continued to raise her children in a Godly Home.
Janet worked as a secretary in the NYS Senate and into a position as an Executive Secretary in the NYS Senate Office of Communications. Later, she worked for Sen. John Marchi from whose office she retired.
Upon her retirement Janet became an international traveler going with her friend to many countries.
Janet's ministry was her musical gift that she used to honor and worship the Lord. She played piano and organ in several local churches in the area and was known to "cut loose" occasionally as King David did when he danced before the Lord.
Janet has left a great legacy of Faith and Hope and Perseverance through her children, her grandchildren and now her great grandchildren.
Even in her dying days Janet was faithful and ministered to those who were ministering to her. She prayed for each and everyone that knew her and believed God for many miracles.
Now she has the greatest miracle of all, being in the presence of Jesus!
Visiting hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am with a Celebration of Janet's life to immediately follow at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Colonie Alliance Church, 32 Lapham Dr, Albany, NY.
