Janet C. Jones

Colonie- Janet C. Jones, 81, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2017. She was born in Albany to the late Edward Kelly and Pauline (Gould) Meier.
Janet graduated from Albany High School and went on to work for the New York State Education Department for 25 years. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Albany and was a devoted member of the choir. She was also a member of the Festival of Praise Choir. Janet enjoyed travelling in her younger days especially her trips to Hawaii and Alaska.
Family was at the center of Janet's life. She was married for 61 years to Wayne L. Jones. She also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Dawn Agnew and Doreen Ryan; grandchildren, Jill Agnew, Megan, and Sean Ryan. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Moroskey (David Trudeau), as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-father, George Meier and siblings, Wilfred Kelly and Florence Conley.
Calling hours will be held from 10am-12pm on Monday, July 3, 2017, at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery Chapel, 303 Sand Creek Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A service will immediately follow at 12pm at the chapel. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, attn: Development Dept., 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
