Janet L. Peters

Janet L. Peters, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 29th 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born in Manchester, NH and is the daughter of Lori (Berthiaume) Waite and the late Harold Waite. Janet was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt and friend. Janet drove a school bus for the Guilderland School District for over 27 years until retiring. She was a member of the Early Bird Golf League in Schenectady and the Tuesday night bowling league in Guilderland and was an avid lifetime Red Sox fan. In addition to her father, Janet was predeceased by her brother Harold Waite Jr.
In addition to her mother, Janet is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert Peters. She is the beloved mother of Lori (Bill) Staigar, Linda (Pat) Costello, Robert Jr. (Kathy) Peters and Richard (Alison) Peters. She is the adored grandmother of; Claire, Nick, Billy, Andrea, Erica, Robert III, Willie, Jesse, Anna, Sean, Cole, Chris, Josh and Freda, and is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren. Janet is the sister of Barbara (Ron) Flubacher and John (Cathy) Waite and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 8:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Clare's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
