Janet L. Pomakoy
September 18, 1934 — January 14, 2015
NEW SCOTLAND – Janet L. Pomakoy, 80, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Born in Plainsfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Olive (Medick) Snyder.
Janet loved gardening and being outdoors. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in McKownville. Janet enjoyed traveling to Newport, RI to see her granddaughter and spending time with family and friends.
Along with her parents, Janet was predeceased by her older brother, Leroy Snyder, and younger brother William Snyder.
She will be missed by her loving husband of 59 years, George J. Pomakoy; children Bruce G. Pomakoy of Schenectady, and Jill L. (Steven) Pine of Wentzville, MO; granddaughter Sarah McKenzie Pine; siblings Betty Pomakoy, Robert Snyder, and Richard Snyder, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 in Janet's name.
