GUILDERLAND-Janet Mary (Turcotte) Morales, 86 passed away on August 23, 2021.
Janet was the daughter of the late Lillian and Narcisse "Buster" Turcotte and stepmother, Lucille Turcotte.
Janet graduated from Sacred Heart grade school in 1948 and from Catholic Central High School in 1952. Then, she went to St. Catherine's Infant Home and graduated in 1953 as a child care technician. She worked at St. Catherine's for 14 years, taking care of the physically and mentally challenged children and worked part time at Brady Maternity Hospital. She then worked at St. Peter's Hospital, in the newborn nursery for 45 years. She always loved working with babies and special children.
Janet is survived by her children, Sharon Volk (Bob), Brian Morales (Valerie), Lynnette Morales (David); her beloved grandchildren, Brianna Morales, Brandon Morales, Kristen Volk, Bobby Volk, Emily Shanahan, Tommy Shanahan; her special siblings, Lorraine Hopko, Elaine Madden, Donald Turcotte (Van), Anne Marie Weir (Jim), Rosemary Turcotte, Daniel Turcotte (Sue) and many nieces, nephews and many close friends she held dear to her heart.
It was Janet's wish along with her family to offer heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Christian Gasson, St. Peter's Woman's Cancer Care Associates and the caring staff of The Community Hospice of Albany County and Rev. James Fitzmaurice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 10:00am at Christ The King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., Albany, NY 12203. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
