Janet M. Waters

SCHENECTADY- Janet M. Waters, age 67, passed away suddenly surrounded by family on February 11, 2021.

She was born in Albany "an L.A. Girl", the daughter of the late Edmund and Elizabeth Bovia. She was predeceased by her daughter, Melanie Nasholts and her brothers: David Bovia Sr., Ronald Bovia and Edward Bovia.

Janet enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, camping and most of all spending time with family. She spent many days lounging in her yard floating in her pool.
She was an avid Days of Our Lives fan, who could not be interrupted between 1 and 2 p.m.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mark E. Waters; daughter, Melissa L. Nasholts; granddaughter, Cyierra O. Roldan; sisters: Irene Oliver and Sharon Ellis; brother, Richard Rafferty. She is also survived by several dearly loved, brother and sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 10 to 1p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A service will follow at 1 p.m. Entombment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.

Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116 or online to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (in memory of her daughter Melanie).
