GUILDERLAND – Janette F. Murray, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Cadwell and Mabel Magley. Jan had resided in Guilderland for over 50 years. She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in New York City. After graduating, she served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Egypt and Greece, where she met and married her husband William. Jan enjoyed spending time at her camp in the Adirondacks. She loved animals and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Jan was the beloved wife of the late William J. Murray. She is the devoted mother of Judith A. (Michael) Margiotta, William J. (Diane) Murray, Jr., Timothy J. (Maryann) Murray, Deborah J. (Daniel) Moak, Sharon F. (Thomas) Connell, Pamela S. (Barry) Moak, Donna M. (Danny Havens) Murray and Daniel J. (Donna) Murray. Also surviving are thirteen cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad, 200 Centre Drive, Albany, NY 12203 in memory of Janette F. Murray.
