Janice O. Cox (ISATTA), 64, passed away peacefully at home Monday, January 8, 2024 surrounded by family after a brief illness.

Born September 13, 1959 in Georgetown, Guyana, she was the daughter of Samuel Joseph Cox and the late Jeanette J. Hyman.

Isata committed her life to her children and family. She was a lover of laughter and good food.

Predeceased by two children, Jafari Cox and Nayabingi Cox (6/26/1982-7/09/2012).

She is survived by her sons Kaya Cox, Iziah Cox; daughter, Iyana Cox; grandchildren, Sincere Cox, Shaniya Cox, Naziyah Cox, , Irie Cox, My'Every Frisbee, Jah'fari Cox, Saviour Cox, and a host of other relatives.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, 12205 from 2PM-4PM, with a service to immediately follow at 4PM.
