Janice (Jan) Sabatino

COLONIE - Janice (Jan) Sabatino, 52, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2011, with her loving family and friends by her side after a courageous battle with lymphoma.
A native of Johnstown Pennsylvania, Jan is the daughter of Zane and Joan (Robertson) Kauffman. She worked for many years at Crossgates Banquet House and then later for Anthem Health Services, before returning to Crossgates for the last several years. Jan had a talent for planning parties and loved to entertain her family, especially her granddaughter.
Jan's favorite activities included traveling, spending time at the beach, and return trips home to Pennsylvania to visit her family, especially at Christmas time. Jan also loved her weekend getaways in the hot rod with her husband and the rest of the "car people".
In addition to her parents, Jan is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Martin, her stepsons, Michael (Luciana) Sabatino, Matthew (Brenda) Sabatino, and Scott Sabatino; her grandchildren, Gianna Sabatino, Zachary McHarg and Shane McHarg; her siblings, Deborah (Edward) Walk, Ronald (Carrie) Kauffman, Gary (Jennifer) Kauffman, and Jill (Dan) McClurkin. Jan is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jan's family wishes to send their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Newkirk, Dr. Garbo, and Dr. Armand and to the staff at NYOH.
Funeral services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, then to St. Clare's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Janice Sabatino.
