Albany~
Janice E. (Snyder) McLellan, 77, passed peacefully at the Teresian House with her loving family on April 11, 2018. Janice was the loving wife and best friend of her husband, William (Bill) C. McLellan until his passing in 2010. Janice and Bill were united in marriage on July 30, 1966 in Whitesboro, NY. Janice and Bill lived and raised their family in Camden, NY and upon their retirement relocated to the Albany, NY area.
Janice was the daughter of the late Agnes (King) and Kenneth L. Snyder, Sr. Janice is survived by her daughter, Jill McLellan Phelps, Albany, NY and her husband Matthew, her son, Christopher M. McLellan of Newark, NY and Donald Martens, her brother Kenneth L. Snyder Jr. (Sue) of South Carolina and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Janice was pre-deceased by her brother, Richard Snyder and sister, Joan Krug Farney.
Janice was born at home in Lyons Falls, NY on December 26, 1940. Janice attended and graduated from Lyons Falls High School in 1959. Janice attended the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing and graduated in 1962 when she began her long and distinguished career as a Registered Nurse. Throughout her career, Janice worked in a wide variety of nursing specialties and particularly enjoyed her work with pediatrics. Janice and her husband owned and operated the McLellan Family Care Home in Camden, NY prior to her retirement.
In the last years of her life, Janice was a resident of the Teresian House in Albany, NY. Janice received kind and loving care throughout her years at the Teresian House. The family extends profound gratitude and appreciation for the tremendous care and support Janice received. The Second Floor "A" Wing team provided exceptional care. Janice had many devoted caregivers during her years at Teresian House including Denise P, Karen, Alva, Laurie R., Sarah S., Denise H., Joyce T, Patty J., Trey and Sister Joan. Sister Patricia who so kindly supported Janice and the family. Special thanks and appreciation are extended to Paula Rainis for her love, friendship and support.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Janice will be held at the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave., Extension, Albany NY 12203 on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11 AM. Friends may call on the family at the Teresian House for one hour preceding the services. Interment will take place privately at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
