Albany - Jason Bailey, 45, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Michael Joslyn Sr and Susan Bailey (Carknard). Jason was the devoted partner to his fiancée Amy Huber for the past 8 years.
Jason worked as a Corrections Officer for the Albany County Correctional Facility for 21 years. During his time as a corrections officer, Jason served as a Local 775 executive board member for 7 years. Prior to working as a correctional officer, Jason also worked as an EMT for Capital District Ambulance and was a volunteer fireman with the Schaghticoke Fire Department.
Jason enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing his expert baking skills, especially his carrot cake which was loved and enjoyed by many. He loved baseball and recently spent his free time as an umpire with the Capital District Umpires Association. After several years as a coach for the Tri City Bombers, Jason brought back the Cohoes Blackhawks Travel Baseball Organization. Jason was a huge fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants and traveling to see the different stadiums. Jason also enjoyed playing Call of Duty with his co-workers. In his younger years, Jason enjoyed spending time racing at Lebanon Valley.
In addition to his Fiancée, Jason is survived by his son, Zachary R. Bailey, his fur babies Landon and Bella, Jean Huber (his best bud), his brother and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jason is also survived by his many brothers and sisters at the Albany County Correctional Facility. He left a lasting impression with his mentorship and contagious smile on all of the families throughout his coaching career. He was more than a coach and the kids he coached learned life lessons as well as baseball. He will be greatly missed by all.

5, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm.
