Colonie – Jason Michael Brown, 13, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 6, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 26 month battle with cancer.
Jason was born in Niskayuna, a son to Edmund and Linda (LaBarge) Brown. He was an All-American boy who liked to play CYO Basketball with Christ the King Church, playing the guitar, hanging out with his friends and loved going to Schroon Lake and swimming at Sand Point Beach with his family.
In addition to his devoted parents, Jason is survived by his loving brother Edmund III, maternal grandmother Shirley LaBarge, paternal grandmother Elizabeth Brown, aunts and uncles: Barbara (Michael) Bray, Michael (Kathy) Brown, Dennis (Carol) Brown, Margaret (Michael) Carson, Steve (Donna) LaBarge and Ruth (Larry) Haney and cousins: Andrew, Jordan, Chris, Meghan, Brian, Dana, Jeff, Dan, Vanessa and Briana.
Funeral services will be Monday 9:15am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, then to Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Guilderland, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Calling hours will be Sunday 3:00 to 6:00pm at the church.
