Nashville, Tn. – Jean Fritze 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2015 at Alive Hospice. Jean was born in Albany and was the daughter of Henry and Lena (Yerry) Chainyk. Jean was the much loved sister of David Chainyk, his wife Jackie and nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Fritze was a long time Albany resident before moving to Glens Falls, then to Mt. Juliet Tennessee. As a young woman, Jean met and married John K. Fritze Sr., later working as the bookkeeper for Fritze Jewelers, a family business in the Capital District. Jean traveled the world with her husband, spending leisure time in their homes in South Africa and in Florida. She was an avid fly-fisherwoman belonging to the Chatiemac Club in North Creek for more than 30 years. Jean was the beloved wife of John for 49 years, before his passing in 2002. She is the loving mother of John K. Fritze Jr and his wife Linda of Delmar, Jeffrey D. Fritze of Loudonville, and Lori Fritze MacMaster and her friend Ronnie Brooks, of Nashville, Tn. Jean cherished her grandchildren Tammy Bolduc, Kimberly DonVito and their families, as well as John K. Fritze 3rd , his wife Michele and her great-grandchildren Elena and Jacob Fritze.
The Fritze Family wishes to extend a special thank you to Carrick Glen Assisted Living and Alive Hospice in Nashville for the care and support of Jean during the past several years. A special thank you is also extended to Ronnie Brooks for making Jean laugh and smile.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, September 17 at 10 A.M. at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt 155 – south of Central Avenue). Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 16 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens.
