Jean T Alheim, 95, wife of the late Walter E Alheim, and a long-time resident of Guilderland, passed away January 11, 2024, in Syosset, NY.
Born March 12, 1928, in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert W and Esther K Gardner.
Jean graduated from Watervliet High school, and later met her husband while teaching ballroom dancing. They settled down to raise their 3 girls in McKownville. She later worked as a dental receptionist and taught swimming for the Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, baking and participating in the senior activities at Christ Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughters Nancy J Stoller (Sheldon) of Oyster Bay, NY and Heidi A Zanotti (Michael) of Mechanicsburg, PA; Grandchildren Laura Stoller, Cindy Stoller, Alan Zanotti (Lindsay), Brian Zanotti, Katherine Zanotti; Great grandchildren Carolyn Stoller, Jason Stoller and Joseph Zanotti, a brother-in-law Edward F Alheim, and nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Walter E Alheim, her daughter Barbara J Alheim and grandson Richard J Stoller (Adrienne), and her siblings Patricia A Bartlett, Donald F Gardner and Roger A Gardner.
A graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens on January 24, 2024 at 10AM.
