Jean Bastian

COLONIE-Jean E. Bastian, 77, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday February 18, 2007 at St. Peters Hospital. She was born in Fonda and was the daughter of the late Milburn and Beatrice Sponable.
Mrs. Bastian had worked with New York State Higher Education Services for several years, retiring in 1991. She was predeceased by her sister, Janet Montoni.
Jean is they beloved wife of 49 years to Joseph W. Bastian. Devoted mother of Mark (Maureen) Bastian of Colonie, Carol (Michael) Kowal of Averill Park, Eric (Victoria) Bastian of Selkirk and Karl (Deb) Bastian of Steamboat Station, CO. She is the cherished grandmother of Anna, Aimee, Elizabeth, Dylan, Graham, Sierra and Blake Bastian, Andrew and Peter Kowal. Jean is the sister of Catherine Kraft of Palentine Bridge and Shirley Greene of Johnstown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
