Schenectady- Alma (Jean) Burns, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017. Jean was born on July 21, 1921 in New Concord, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Martha Isabella (Daugherty) McConnelee.
Jean was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, arts and crafts, bowling, playing cards and visiting with her friends at the Colonie Senior Center.
Jean was predeceased in 1970 by her husband, John Hendricks Burns and her daughter Laurie in 2012. She was also predeceased by her brothers, John and James.
Jean is survived by her sons John (Martha) and Roy (Lee) Burns, her grandchildren: Tracy Rashford, Kim (Sam) Garzone; step-grandchildren Amy (Wayne) Hills and Sara Siddons; great-grandchildren: Alyssa and Jessica Rashford, Rachel Garzone; step-great-grandchildren: Brittany and Adam Hills, Billy Siddons and step-great-great-granddaughter, Moriah Bradt. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Ralph Frey.
A private memorial service will be held.
