She was born in Massena, NY, the daughter of the late Donald and Jeanette Burnell. She was also predeceased by her brother Donald Burnell and sister in law Deborah Burnell.
Jean was a graduate of Massena Central High School. After high school she met her soul mate Michael and they married on May 28, 1977. Following the wedding they moved to Schenectady to start their life together and begin a family.
Jean started working at Price Chopper and advanced her professional journey through the Golub Corporation as a Human Resource Associate and Payroll Clerk. As the hardworker that Jean was, she continuously sought advancement and new challenges. From 2005 to retirement in 2019 she continued to develop herself professionally as a Senior Administrative Assistant at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory and was proud of her accomplishments.
She was an incredible mother to her three children and was delighted to become Nana. She was often found cheering on her grandchildren at their school events and special events. If you knew Jean, you knew her grandchildren, because she never stopped bragging about them.
Through the years, she enjoyed her time with her husband. Most mornings you could find them doing crossword puzzles together. She enjoyed family game nights and dinners. Family was everything to her. She also enjoyed traveling, Facebook and peanut M & M's.
Nana was the life of the party with a contagious smile, celebrating with loved ones, laughing and loving life.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Michael J. Hudon; children: Monica (Travis) Mare, Melissa (Jeff) Hindes and Michael (Heather) Hudon; 10 grandchildren: Nicholas, Rachel, Anthony and Gabriella Mare, Mattingly, Mariana and Maris Hindes, Cohen, Charlotte and Camden Hudon; her twin sister, Jane (Geoff) Smythe whom she had a deep connection with and kid sister, Patricia (John) Minor.
