Jean M. Wood

COLONIE – Jean Mary Wood, 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, with her loving family by her side. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Chappell. She worked for A T & T for twenty-five years and also the William K. Sanford Library for twenty-five years. Jean liked reading and cooking and especially enjoyed vacationing and get-togethers with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Wood and her sister, Joyce Miller.

Jean is the devoted mother of Jessica (James Littlefield) Wood and Janet (Wayne) Welch. She is the cherished grandmother of Sam, Ian, Tessa and Ryan and the loving sister of Linda (Dennis) Beach. Jean is the adored aunt of Jeffrey and Chrissy. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and her beloved canine companion, "Daisy".


A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-southof Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 in memory of Jean M. Wood.
