Albany - Jean S. Medick passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 22, 1931 to the late Michael Viglucci and Carrie (Fusco) Viglucci
She graduated from Albany High in 1950. Jean worked in food service at Vincentian Institute from 1974-1977 and then with UAlbany from 1977-2003.
Jean married the love of her life, the late Donald G. Medick on June 14, 1952.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sons Michael and Paul and her twin sister Joan Carroll.
Jean is survived by her children, Donna Hood (Charles), Nancy Armstrong (Mark), Mary Beth Ribet (Steven); her grandchildren , Amy, Laura, Shawn, Brittany, Scott, Christopher and Sarah, and many step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister, Patricia Whalen and a daughter-in-law Marie (Michael deceased).
Jean's daughters would like to thank Shaker Place for the tender care they provided not only for our mom but our dad as well. We also thank Albany Medical Center for making mom comfortable.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie where a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders USA, P.O. Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030.
