ALBANY - Jean W. Misiewicz, 92, beloved wife of the late USA (Ret) Major Victor J. Misiewicz, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011, at home, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Hyde Park, MA, on May 1, 1919, Jean was the daughter of late Henry and Sophia Woitkiewicz. Jean had a natural talent for creative writing and composed many short stories. She enrolled in creative writing courses when she was in her 80's. She was known for being able to paint a picture with words. She was also an avid Bingo player and enjoyed many evenings out with her best friend, Connie Wessel, of Nashua, NH. Jean was always up to the challenge of a Scrabble game.
Jean enjoyed living at the Atria Crossgate Community where her life was enriched and she was respected by a wonderful, caring staff who were like a second family to her. She had many fun filled and happy days there. She always had a smile on her face.
Jean is survived by her beloved brother, USAF (Ret) Col. William J. White of Albany; sister, Sophie Bryett of Albany; a daughter, Mary A. Laramie, RN, and her fiancée, James C. Linden of Albany; a niece, Natalie Bartlett of Florida, and several nieces, nephews and many friends throughout New England. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemary J.
