Jeanette M. Daoud, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 5, 2018. She was lovingly cared for in her last weeks by her family.
Jeanette's parents were the late Paul and Mary Clow. She was married for 54 years to the late Dr. Assaad "Ted" Daoud, from Zebdani, Syria. They shared a passion for travel and saw much of the world together.
Jeanette had an innate eye for beauty and fine craftsmanship, and enjoyed hunting for treasures in unpromising barns and out-of-the-way antique shops. An accomplished craftswoman, she worked in crewel and needlepoint embroidery, often designing her own canvases. Completed projects of every kind decorated her home. She was an avid follower of, and commentator on, national and international politics and events. A particular interest was Middle East affairs, and the fate of the Palestinian people.
Jeanette loved to cook, feeding family, friends, and anyone else who crossed her threshold. Even in her last days, she was clipping recipes and passing them on. Another of her great pleasures was having a good laugh and cussing session with her brothers and sisters.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Rosemary Walsh, Charlie Daoud, and Sam Daoud; her grandchildren Kelley Triscari, Jenny Walsh, Allison Walsh, Sydney Walsh, Christina Moore, Rachel Daoud, Sam Daoud, and Gabriella Daoud; her great-granddaughter Winnie Moore; and her siblings, Larry Clow, Cecilia Malcolm, Kathy Spadoni, Paul Clow, and Sue Emanuelle. She is pre-deceased by her brothers Billy Clow and Charlie Clow, and by her son-in-law, Robert Walsh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead Street, Albany, NY at 9:00 a.m., Monday, March 12. Entombment will follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, New York.
Jeanette's beloved cat, Zsa-Zsa, was found by Bobby Walsh at a Petco adoption clinic, and, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jeanette's name to petcofoundation.org
