Jeanette E. Pangburn Greene, 96, of The Wesley Community in Saratoga, went into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Born in Schenectady on April 1, 1921, she was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth and Clarence Pangburn. Jeanette graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. She was employed for 15 years at G.E., where she worked on war supplies and radio equipment. She then married Anthony R. Greene and was married for 49 years. They resided on Curry Road in Schenectady with their three children. Anthony passed away on October 16, 2003
Jeanette was a longtime communicant of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church on Hamburg Street. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed going to the family camp on Sacandaga every summer. Jeanette especially loved babysitting for her grandchildren; she was known as a caretaker and took care of anyone who needed her. She loved her family very much.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Edward and Clarence; a stepson, Richard and his daughter, Kathy; a beloved grandson, Justin Micalizzi.
Jeanette is survived by a son, Mark Greene and his wife Robin of Colonie; daughters, Dale Ann Micalizzi and her husband Gary of Rotterdam and Diane Madia and her husband Frank of Queensbury; sister in law, Betty Pangburn of Burnt Hills; daughter in law, Judy Green and Granddaughter, Karen Jones of Alabama; dear friend, Grace Brown of Schenectady; seven grandchildren, Marcy (Danielle) Greene of Mass., Daniel (Angela) Micalizzi of Rotterdam, Nicholas Madia of Queensbury, Andrea Micalizzi of Conn., Christopher (Jennifer) Madia of Malta, Andrew (Allison) Greene of Slingerlands and Johnathan Madia of Queensbury; six great grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriella Micalizzi, Lucas, Paisleigh, Mianna and Cruz Madia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family wishes to thank the Wesley staff for their care and support, especially the nurses and CNA's of 3 Springs, for all of their dedication and compassion for Jeanette.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will be held 1 hour prior starting at 10am. Burial will be held at Park View Cemetery, Schenectady.
