ALBANY, NY – Jeanette Joycelyn Hyman, 71, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, after a long illness. She was born in Georgetown, Guyana in South America and was the daughter of the late Rudolph J. and Millicent V. Hyman. Jeanette immigrated from Guyana to the United States in 1968. She last worked for the Capital District Psychiatric Center from where she retired. Jeanette is the beloved mother of Gregory (Corzetta) Hyman, Janice Cox, Troy (Rita) Hyman and Monique (Kevin) Stewart. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, Jeanette was predeceased by her sister, Dolly Cush.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Metropolitan New Testament Baptist Church, 105 Second St., Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
