Jeanette M. Mccoy

Jeanette M. McCoy, 98, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 at Albany Medical Center.

Born on June 14, 1925 in Earlton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Frances Sedlacek. Jeanette graduated from Coxsackie High School in 1942 and obtained her nursing degree from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Albany. She worked with the Visiting Nurses Association and Albany Memorial Hospital, serving as the health supervisor for the School of Nursing. Jeanette was an active member of various organizations, including the American Nurses Association, Albany Memorial Nurses Alumni Association (where she served as president and later as historian), National Letter Carrier Auxiliary, Thunder Road Senior Club in Colonie, and Pine Grove Methodist Church.

Jeanette was predeceased by her husband, John McCoy; her sister, Constance Dahl; her nephew, Brian Dahl.

She is survived by her children, Joanne Catalano, Jon B. McCoy (Karen) and Jeannine Calabrese; beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Gauthier (Michael), Connie Woytowich (Michael), Anthony Catalano (Jasmine), Lauren and Kristen Calabrese; great-grandchildren, Alida Catalano, Isabella, Sarah, Emma and Amelia Woytowich, and Payton Gauthier; great-great grandchild, Violet.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4-7PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10AM on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 1580 Central Avenue, Albany. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanette's name to the Memorial Fund at Pine Grove United Methodist Church or to a charity of one's choice.
