Jeanne B. Freeman (Allison), 89, passed away peacefully at the Schenectady Center for Rehab & Nursing on December 22, 2017.
She was a lifelong resident of Cohoes. She was the daughter of John Alexander (Jack) Allison and Mary Johanna (Rajhel) Allison. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George H. Freeman.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Anita J. (Cammuso) Miller; her son in law, Henry L. Miller (Bud), who she had a very special relationship with. He was always sneaking her pink peppermints and fireballs, which she was not supposed to have and it was "their secret." She called him her "Buddy" and he was like a son to her. Also survived by her daughter, Susan (Cammuso) Waldron of Florida; son, Mark Cammuso; her "adopted" daughter, Janet Miller; who was her friend and a help to the family as a caregiver over the years. Her step-children (who she loved as her own), Robert Freeman (Kathleen), Debra Ganz (Bob), the late Rick Freeman, Suzanne Freeman. Jeanne's grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Joseph, Aleah, Tracy, Elesha (Phil), Henry Jr., Leah and Kady; great-grandchildren, Gregory, Kaiden, Jakob, Austin, Aaron, Ethan, Claire and Jack; a very special niece, Cindy Schuld (Elmer).
Jeanne loved to paint ceramics, we all have Cabbage Patch banks and lamps to prove it. She loved costume jewelry, hence her frequent rides with Anita and Bud to Camelot Village in Vermont. Jeanne loved to sing songs to children, we all know " the songs." She loved to watch animals, she once had a squirrel trained to come when she called it, for bread and peanut butter. Jeanne fell asleep on her deck one day and woke to find the squirrel sleeping on her lap. She loved her old movies, the big band era and especially the Nelson Eddie/Jannette McDonald movies. She loved coming to her daughter and son in law's home to watch "the show" at the bird feeder. One year a pair of Mallard ducks and a pair of turkeys would come and it was a hilarious "show down". She would just about "faint" when the deer came to the feeder. She was a very unique individual and made people laugh, she will be sorely missed.
Anita and Henry (Bud) would like to thank EVERYONE at the Schenectady Center for Rehab & Nursing on Altamont Avenue, what a wonderful place. She was given excellent care. I just can't say enough about the place. Thank you all so very much.
