Jeanne M. Strizzi
December 28, 1928 — August 29, 2016
Jeanne Marie (O'Brien) Strizzi, 87, entered into eternal life on August 29, 2016 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and we are all at peace knowing she is back with God.
Jeanne was born to the late John A. and Louisita (Lange) O'Brien, a Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander and a homemaker respectively, on Staten Island, NY on December 28, 1928. She enjoyed working at Latham Medical Group at the front desk for many years.
Jeanne was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Calvin F. Muthig in 1951 and they welcomed five children before Calvin passed in 1960. Jeanne met and married the love of the rest of her life, John L Strizzi, in 1965. She is survived by her husband John; her children Donna Hathaway, Susan O'Connor, John C. (Catherine) Strizzi, Brien (Colette) Strizzi, Craig (Anne Marie) Strizzi. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Woods of Liberty, NY.
Jeanne and John have 15 grandchildren : Denis (Rachelle) Hathaway, Daniel Hathaway, Kevin (Maria) O'Connor, Michael O'Connor, Cara O'Connor, Patricia O'Connor, Sean Strizzi, Nicholas Strizzi, Sara Strizzi, Jenna (Manuel Ferrando) Strizzi, Alyssa (Toby Johnson) Strizzi, Nicolette Strizzi, Jessica Strizzi, and Laura Strizzi. They also have four great grandchildren: Noah Bennett, Sheridan Furniss, Robert Hathaway and Harrison Hathaway. Jeanne had several very special nieces. nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews.
She is pre-deceased by her sons-in-law, Robert Hathaway and Brendan O'Connor and her grandson, Marc Strizzi.
There will be a wake for Jeanne at New Comer Funeral Home at 343 New Karner Rd, in Colonie, NY on September 1, 2016 from 4-7pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am at St. Paul the Apostle Church at 2777 Albany St. in Schenectady. Burial will follow at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery at 2501 Troy Schenectady Rd, in Niskayuna.
