Jeanne G. Smith

Schenectady- Jeanne G. Smith, 83, formally of East Greenbush, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Born in Little Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Leta and George Thomas. She is predeceased by her husband of 14 years, Bruce F. Smith.
Jeanne was employed in various clerical positions retiring in 1999 from the Federal Government Department of HUD. She enjoyed traveling both in the US and internationally. Jeanne was an avid reader and loved arts and crafts. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived her two daughter's, Sharron Gennetti (Nicholas) and Karen Maxian (the late Richard). She was the loving Grandma to Justine Maxian, Victoria Maxian (Matthew Caine) and Emily Costanzo (Chris). She was also the "GiGi" to her three great grandchildren, Amina, Colton and Logan. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews as well as Bruce's children, Lori Creeron (Stephen) and Arlene Bynack (Bill) and their family.
She is predeceased by her four brother and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 10am-11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial service will begin at 11am at the funeral home with interment following at Prospect View Cemetery, St. Johnsville,NY.
