RAYMERTOWN, NY – Jeanne (Snyder) Nyland Ford, 75, our loving mother and sweet angel, "Jeanie Beanie", went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Jeanne passed away at home, under the care of hospice from Alzheimer's, surrounded by her loving family and her loving husband, Everett George Ford, Sr. Born in Albany on June 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Geneva Trendall Snyder and William Sydney Snyder. Jeanne was a graduate of Albany High School and worked for the State Bank in Albany. Later in life, she worked for Cluett & Peabody and retired after twenty years of state service from the New York State Dept. of Civil Service on the Albany State Campus.
Jeanne had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She liked shopping, crafts, reading her Sunday paper, NY Times crossword puzzles, playing on her computer, sunbathing in the back yard and spending time at the beach. Jeanne enjoyed many trips each year to Montreal with her husband, trips on the east coast, New York City for Broadway plays and many bus trips. She loved meeting new people, making friends with everyone she met, classical music and being adventuress. After her retirement from the State, Jeanne looked forward to her monthly dinners with her friends and co-workers, Patti Crupe, Joanie and Chrissie Terry.
Jeanne is survived by her beloved husband, Everett G. Ford, Sr.; her children, Kenneth P. (Kimberly) Nyland of Tacoma, WA, Timothy J. (Beverly) Nyland of Malta, Cindy L. (Eric) Hunt of Albany, Christopher M. (Allison) Nyland of Sparta, WI; her stepchildren, Everett G. (Patricia) Ford, Jr. of Tampa, FL, Karen (Dale Buttrey of Houston, TX, Valerie (Chuck) Sandstrom of Lebanon, and Virginia (Joseph) Pagoda of Albany; her sister, Sandra Siebert of Rensselaer and her brother, John Snyder of North Greenbush; fifteen grandchildren, among them, Brandy G. Lewis, Kenneth P. Nyland, III, Kevin E. Nyland, Douglas S. Lockrow, Jr., Bryan Paige and Darren Nyland. Also surviving are eleven great-grandchildren, many sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeanne's family would like to thank Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for the care provided by the nurses and doctors who cared and visited her and to hospice aide Penny, for her daily loving care of our mother.
Funeral services will be Monday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
