KELLY, JEFFERSON
Jefferson Kelly, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. "Kelly" as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Fleischmanns, NY the son of the late Jesse and Oscar Kelly. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Sampson in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. Kelly was an active member of VFW post 1019 for over 50 years and the past commander. He was also a member of the Zaloga Post, American Legion and Eagles of Rensselaer. Kelly was the superintendant of #399 State Street, a plumber with Everite Plumbing and more recently worked for and retired from New York State OGS. He was an avid deer hunter and very fond of his dog "Buddy". In addition to his parents Jefferson is predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Tervay) Kelly.
Jefferson is survived by his sister Flora, son, Jeffrey (Debbie)Kelly of Perry, Ark., daughter Donna (Nick) Soler of Troy, grandchildren, Matthew (Missy) Kelly Sr., John (Vickie) Kelly, Nicole Soler, Antonio Soler and great-grandchildren; Matthew, Jr., Noah and Trista.
The funeral service will be Thursday 6:30pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, (Rt. 155-South of Central). Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 6:30pm at the funeral home.
