Albany- Jeffery "Jay" J. Daus, 63, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at his home. Jay was the son of the late John and Lorraine Daus.
Jay graduated from Troy High School where he was a star player on the hockey team. After graduating, he became a banquet manager at Michael's Banquet House in Latham, NY for many years. Jay also worked at D'Raymonds in Loudonville as a server until his retirement.
Jay enjoyed every moment he got to spend with his loving daughter Rachel. He always cherished going to Rachel's dance recitals, cheerleading competitions, and most of all getting to watch her walk across the stage after graduating from nursing school. He was an avid sports fan and loved his Cleveland Browns. He always knew how to make others laugh and loved to share stories.
Jay is survived by his daughter, Rachel L. Daus (Andrew); siblings, Judith (Michael) Pyskaty, Thomas (Debbie) Daus, Gerald (Jane) Daus, and Steven Daus; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Tuesday March 1, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Wednesday March 2, 2022 at 10:30 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 50 101st St, Troy, NY 12180.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jay's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave Menands, NY 12204.
