Glenmont - Jeffery Mark Mallette was taken away on March 2, 2018, just shy of his 59th birthday, by the cruel hands of cancer. Originally from the Midwest; growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, he chose to make the capital region home for the past 26 years.
Jeff enjoyed the seasons, natural beauty and diversity of the northeast. Hiking was his favorite outdoor activity. He had a sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling, which included visits to all 48 continental states and two trips to Italy. He loved life, which was frequently shown by a great, deep laugh. Jeff managed Panera Cafe's for over 10 years; most of that time spent in Niskayuna.
Jeff is survived by his best, Jesery-girlfriend, Roslyn Zorzi (Glenmont); sisters, Pam Pottorff and Chris McCaslin (IA); and brother, Craig Mallette (CA). He (like Rufus) will always be "forever young" in our hearts.
Friends are welcome to come together and join in a Celebration of Life at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm
Causes meaningful to Jeff were the environment and animals. In his honor, don't waste water, recycle that plastic bottle, donate blood or contribute to your local animal shelter. Respect our earth home and all those who live on it. Most importantly, he would want you to remember that KINDNESS ALWAYS MATTERS.
A huge shout out in awe, respect and gratitude to the nursing and support staff at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
