Jeff Cohen, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2018 with his family by his side.
Jeff was born in Queens, New York to Herbert and Gloria Cohen and grew up in Great Neck, New York. After attending C. W. Post he worked in a number of positions in New York government, including in the executive chamber for Governor Mario Cuomo and in the Higher Education Services Corporation.
Jeff was an anglophile, with a connoisseur's appreciation of British cars and (with the guidance of his beloved partner, Patricia McKee) British theater. He combined wit and intelligence with an endless reserve of generosity and loyalty to those he treasured—qualities that contributed to his lifelong love of cats, including Rusty, and Sprite and Maggie.
Although he lived in Albany, New York since the 1970s, he retained a lifelong ability to cook a delicious traditional brisket.
Jeff is survived by Gloria; Patricia; and his two nephews, Alex and Asher Smith.
