SCHENECTADY – Jeffrey L. Gilbert, 58, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Hudson Falls, he was the son of Perry Gilbert and the late Beverly Gilbert.
Jeffrey was a resident of Schenectady for 30 years. He worked for the Local #40 for 13 years. In his free time, Jeffrey enjoyed hunting, music and spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, Jeffrey was predeceased by his brother, David Gilbert.
He will be missed by his wife of 32 years, Barbara J. Gilbert; children Jessica L. Gilbert and Samuel J. Gilbert of Schenectady; siblings Susan McLaughlin and Peter, Paul and Tom Gilbert; granddaughter Alana Tucker and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Memorial calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope House of Albany, 573 Livingston Avenue, Albany, NY 12206 in Jeffrey's name.
