Jeffrey Rask, 80, from High Falls, Latham, and Troy, NY passed into eternal life on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
Originally from High Falls, NY, Jeff graduated from Kingston High School before becoming a Marine, something he took great pride in. He served in the Second Division's Eighth Expeditionary Unit with stays in both Puerto Rico and Cuba.
Jeff was a salesman most of his professional life before retirement as a resident of Troy, NY. He spent most of his sons' childhoods coaching their various baseball teams in Latham, NY and later attending his grandchildren's games and school events in the Town of Bethlehem, NY. He had a talent for befriending many in local restaurants and enjoyed day trips around the Capital District, Hudson Valley, and Adirondacks. Jeff was known for his love of dancing, singing at local karaoke bars and personal style, often donning a classic hat – fedoras, and panamas to name a few.
Jeff is survived by his sons: Kurt Rask (Meighan) of Slingerlands, NY and Gregg Rask of Tucson, AZ and his longtime partner, Cidalia Millham of Troy, NY; grandchildren: Kyle, Brynn, Croydon, Leveret and Rylie, and several nieces, and nephews. Jeff is predeceased by his brother David Rask of Kingston, NY and his mother, Elizabeth Rask of High Falls, NY.
A combined funeral and memorial service will be held on Saturday May 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205 with a private luncheon to follow.
