Westmere - Jennie A. Stumpf, 86, of Westmere, died suddenly on May 16, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Albany, Jennie was a homemaker while raising her three children. Later, she worked for BOCES in the Guilderland School District working with students with disabilities. She was a Life Member of the Westmere Fire Department Auxiliary actively involved in the Food Pantry. She was also a member of the Pat Aiezza Post (named after her deceased brother Patsy), and a member of Christ the King Church. Jennie loved spending time with family. Her family was her life. She loved cooking her Italian spaghetti and meatballs for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Edward L. Stumpf Jr: 2 children, E. Charles (Mary) Stumpf of Guilderland and Marcia (Garen) Szablewski of Burnt Hills; grandchildren E.C. (Maria) Stumpf II, Marisa (Conor) Kearney, Ryan Szablewski, Timothy Szablewski and three great-granddaughters Maeve, Molly and Ainsley Kearney. She is the sister of Andrew Aiezza, Mary Triolo, Rose Teson, Salvatore Aiezza, Anna Mottolese, and many nieces and nephews.
Jennie was predeceased by her parents, Patsy and Gioviannia Aiezza; brothers Patsy Aiezza, Carmen (Frances) Aiezza, sisters Lucy (Wallace) Sheldon, Betty Holmes; and her son Jeffrey Stumpf.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 10 am at Christ the King Church. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather for a service of prayer and remembrance at 3:30. All are welcome. Interment will be in Memory Gardens.
