WEST ALBANY - Jenny K. Schwinghammer, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Jenny was born on January 19, 1927 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Cananda to the late James and Margaret Greves Schwartz.
Jenny worked as a key punch operator for the NYS Department of Tax and Finances in Albany for five years. Prior to that she was a key punch operator at the First Prize Tobin Meat Packing Co. in West Albany and previous to that she was a telephone operator for Western Union in Albany.
Jenny enjoyed crocheting, knitting and doing puzzles. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Jenny is survived by her husband of 44 years, Erich Schwinghammer; her daughter, Susan (Edward) Zautner; her sons, Erich (Lisa) Schwinghammer Jr. and William (Kathy) Schwinghammer; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob, Erich III and Sara, and Beth and Bill; nieces, Barbara and Deborah and nephews, Andrew and Bill. She was predeceased by a brother, James Schwartz.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. in Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Jenny K. Schwinghammer.
