COLONIE- Jerry L. Miller, 79, passed away at St. Peters Hospital on Monday, June 29, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born in Akron, OH on March 22, 1936 to the late Henry and Ruth Miller. Jerry settled in Albany, NY, where he attended V.I. High School and H.V.C.C. During high school he met his loving wife Gloria of 59 years. Jerry retired from IBM as an engineer after 35 years of loyal service.
Jerry will be remembered for his love of gardening, his conservative Republican politics, traveling with his family, and the moments he shared with his beloved grandchildren. He was an avid walker, and his wife Gloria's chauffer and constant companion. Jerry had an unmatched work ethic and was a "do it yourselfer", but never for himself. He will be greatly missed.
Jerry is survived by his cherished wife, Gloria, his children; Michael (Karen) Miller, John (Debi) Miller, Liz (Paolo) Grandjacquet, Nancy (Alan) Sunukjian, Tom (Maggie) Miller, his grandchildren; Christopher, Alex, Cristina, Max (his beloved caregiver), Mitchell, Jessica, Sam, Mary, Michael, and Jack.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 4:00-7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr, Albany, NY 12211 on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00am.
Jerry's family would like to thank the staff on the 5th floor and ICU at St. Peter's Hospital, and at St. Peter's Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry's name to St. Peter's Rehabilitation Center, 301 Hackett Blvd, Albany, NY 12208
